Stack Tournaments
Another
very popular variation of the standard Poker Holdem Tournament is the
Super Stack version. Super Stack Holdem Poker tournaments differ from
the standard knock out version is that players are issued with
considerably more playing chips for their entry fee. For example the
average multi-table tournaments will begin with contestants being
issue an average of two thousand playing chips, while in Super Stack
tournaments they are issued at least three times that amount and
sometimes even four. As
you would imagine this makes for a completely different type of
tournaments where re-buys and add-ons are almost non- existent and
which usually take a lot longer to complete, unless there are a lot
of very aggressive players at the table. Players
who choose to take part in Super Stack Poker Holdem tournaments do so
in the knowledge that they won't be frozen out too early if they
choose to wait on hands coming. Usually a Super Stack tournament will
start off with pretty low blinds sometimes 10-20 playing chips which
are not a frightening high figure when you consider that a player
could be starting the tournament with a chip stack of between 7,000
to 8,000. This means that a player goes into the tournament knowing
that they can finance between 300 to 350 big blinds and antes Super
Stack tournament certainly suit the tight player, but that doesn't
mean that they can't also serve as a haven for the aggressive player
who wants to control play and build themselves a large chip stack
early in the tournament. As
ever the player who ends up with all the chips is the winner, no
matter how long it takes.
